ALICE Community Notice

The Ketchikan School District for the 2019-2020 school year has started the process to review our district's safety protocols. The school district has adopted the ALICE school safety staff curriculum and is providing training to all district employees. It is our goal that all students and staff should feel safe at school.

We have chosen the ALICE training program to empower our staff with the tools and protocols to use in the case of a school security threat.

Each of our schools will be providing time for families to learn more about the ALICE curriculum and be informed about the proactive steps being taken to ensure the safety of all students and staff.  Please contact your school for dates and times.

The KGBSD School Board will be reviewing the ALICE curriculum in January and evaluating if this tool is appropriate for our students.  If you have concerns, please contact one of our school board representatives. Contact information and school board meetings times can be found at schoolboard.kgbsd.org. Thank you for your involvement and support on how we can provide a safe learning environment for all of our students.
