APC Elections

Elections are upon us, and we are realizing our usual crew has had changes to their lives where they will not be able to participate at their usual capacity.  Academic Parent Committee (APC) meetings are at 6pm the 1st & 3rd Tuesday of each month during the school year and once per month over the summer. Our next scheduled meeting is March 2nd.  Elections will be held during conferences March 10th & 11th.  

The duties include hiring the Principal, managing the school budget, overseeing fundraising (blueberry festival, cookie dough, spirit wear and more), student activities, and setting the policies for the operation of the Ketchikan Charter School. Members hold office for two years and may run for a second term. 

The Ketchikan Charter School appreciates the dedication of its Committee Members and the fact that they find the job rewarding.  If you are interested in filling a vacant parent representative position on the APC, please fill out the APC Application Form.

Election ballots will be available at the KCS front office during our scheduled conference times.  The 20/21 election will be held in accordance with Sec.3.4 ELECTIONS in the APC policy manual.
