Degrees and Certifications:
Dear KGBSD Staff, Parents and Community,
My name is Beth Lougee and I am excited to be the director of curriculum and professional development for the district. I have over 20 years in education where I have been a teacher, coach, school counselor, and principal. Prior to moving to Alaska for the second time, I have also worked in the states of Colorado, New Mexico and Wyoming. Each opportunity brought learning opportunities that were rewarding, challenging and exciting!
I would like to welcome everyone to the district web page for Curriculum and Professional Development. Our department is responsible for the curriculum in all disciplines for all ages. Our goal is to provide a rich curriculum in all disciplines and provide consistency across schools and grade levels. In addition to curriculum is professional development that promotes what we teach, how we teach and assesses our student’s growth.
The new school year will be met with working as a team to adopt science curriculum. As the process begins and continues throughout the school year there will be updates posted regarding the progress.
We will update our website often and invite you to frequent our site for new and upcoming information.
Please feel welcome to stop in any time to visit.
