  • The Southeast Alaska Discovery Center is excited to renew their series of conservation education programs for the 2021-22 school year. These events are designed for homeschool families, classrooms, and students.  The November and December program will be a 5 week water cycle exploration theme. Homeschool events are scheduled for Friday afternoons and will be presented via the SEADC MS Teams Classroom, session 1 - 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. and session 2 - 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. (Links are posted on the SEADC web page.)  Each week the Ranger lead conservation lessons are paired with Lab and Art to Go kits. Families may register for both sessions or only those they are interested in attending.

  • Battle of the Books will be offered again this year. This is a wonderful enrichment activity. Students are divided into age categories for grades three/four  and five/six and seven/eight.

    Each division has a list of 12 - 15 books to be read by small teams of 2 - 4 students. The book lists are posted at the public library and on this link:

    Each session is 2 weeks, 11:45am-12:30pm Monday - Friday.

    Please contact Shelann to sign up! 2 or more lessons per year 

    cost is $45 per child and will be taken out of your child's fund account.
