Elementary: At the elementary schools, we serve students by teaming with the classroom teachers to determine the best way to meet the students’ needs. This may include individual or small group instruction that is delivered by an ELL teacher. ELL paraprofessionals may also tutor students individually or in small groups using materials and directions provided by the classroom teacher. The paraprofessional may also work in the classroom under the direction of the classroom teacher.

Secondary: At the secondary level, we serve students by teaching various levels of ELL classes on an as-needed basis. A study hall is also available for those who need assistance with their academic classes.

Testing: Students in the ELL program are assessed annually to determine their progress in acquiring English skills. The assessment (ACCESS 2.0 for ELLs) covers listening, speaking, reading, and writing proficiency.
