The Board of Education believes in the active
involvement and participation of the Ketchikan
community in the affairs of the school district.
While the ultimate responsibility for decisions
resides with the B.O.E., these committees identify
problems, conduct studies and develop
recommendations. Advisory Committees are
formed by the B.O.E. for the purpose of seeking
advice and providing widespread involvement in issues affecting the school district. As the district grows and changes, these advisory committees are an important part of the ongoing dialogue between the school district, school board, and community.
