• girl books Battle of the Books is a statewide reading competition featuring teams representing grade level combinations of 3-4, 5-6, 7-8, and high school.
Students read all or most of the 10 books from the yearly book list for their grade level and then, with a team of three students, compete with other teams at a building level and then at a District level. The winning team in each grade level group represents the District in a state competition via audio conference.  It’s a great program for motivating students to read more and encourage cooperation.
You may encourage your child to participate.  More information and a list of book titles will go home in September. The actual Battles will begin in January.
