My name is Alexis Gubatayao and I’m proud to be a Thunderbird here at Tongass School of Arts and Sciences! This will be my 6th year with TSAS as a Prek/kindergarten teacher. I truly have a passion for working with our littlest learners! I received my Bachelors in Elementary Education from UAS and am currently enrolled in the Masters program to become a Reading Specialist.
I was born and raised right here in Ketchikan and love our little community. I have been with my husband for 8 ½ years and married for three. In November 2021 Jason and I welcomed our first child into the world, our beautiful baby girl, Tegan. We love spending our free time taking Tegan and our dog on all of the fun adventures; hiking, fishing, hunting, camping, beach combing, gathering.. the list goes on and on :D I also personally enjoy running, reading, a good cup of coffee, gardening (I’m kind of like a crazy plant lady), snuggling with my little girl, and spending time with my friends & family.
I am so looking forward to meeting you all and working with you as partners in your child’s growth and development!
Hello TSAS families! My name is Ms. Harmony and I am one of the preschool/kindergarten teachers here at TSAS. I have lived in Ketchikan for four years and am headed into my 5th year here at TSAS. I have one daughter in high school, and two sons, one at the middle school and the other here at Tongass. My husband is a director for one of the local tour companies.I love being a part of Tongass School of Arts and Sciences because I truly feel we are a small community of staff and students living our daily lives together, learning, growing, and teaching one another. Ms. Alexis and I love team teaching and are continuously seeking to make our classrooms a creative, fun, and safe place for our little ones to learn!Welcome to the TSAS family! We are glad you are here! Here is a picture of my amazing family (Ryan, Harmony, Marre, Foster and Jude) at Mendenhall Glacier in Juneau.
