Human Growth and Development
Today’s teens are faced with incredible relationship pressures. Being aware of these challenges and pressures, as well as, the resulting physical, mental, emotional, and social implications are the basis of instruction on Human Growth and Development content in 7th and 8th grade Health classes at Schoenbar Middle School. Human Growth and Development topics to be covered are:
I will be using district approved curriculum materials during the instruction. The main emphasis will be placed on responsibility and respect in relationships.
This program will have limited homework; grade will be based on attendance, participation and quizzes. I encourage you to discuss with your child the information shared in class.

Parents choosing to have their child opt out of the Human Growth and Development lessons should indicate their wishes in writing submitted to the school office and Mr. Smith. Students who opt out will have alternate assignments and placement during the Human Growth and Development unit.
