KAYHI TRAVEL PROTOCOLS FOR STUDENTS & STAFF
For those who leave Ketchikan for more than 72 hours (even if they travel within the state of Alaska): the school district requires a 5-day quarantine and negative COVID test before they can return to school and activities.
Students who are quarantining should remain in email contact with their teachers, and use Zoom to attend classes daily.
Questions or special circumstances? Please contact our district nurses:
*School-sponsored travel follows the activities mitigation plan.
This year the Region V Honor Music Festival has gone virtual: as an alternative to the traditional October in-person performance, the 11 music directors of Southeast Alaska high schools chose their outstanding musicians to contribute to the 2020 virtual performance of the Honor Band and the Honor Choir.Fifty-six band students and 28 choir students received music from their directors to practice. Each student then recorded a video of themselves performing their part along with a pre-recorded "click-track" to align the performers. The students' videos were collected by Matt Lenhard of Petersburg High School and delivered to the company VirtualChoir.net for production. Also included were photos of the beautiful setting of Southeast Alaska to provide a backdrop to each group's performance. In the spirit of the election year, the Region V Virtual Honor Band performed "Rushmore" by Alfred Reed, and the Region V Virtual Honor Choir performed "Let the River Run" by Carly Simon, arranged by Craig Hella Johnson. The performance videos of the band and the choir can be viewed on Youtube:
Math tutoring available Monday-Thursday, 3pm-4pm.
