I am Elizabeth Avila and I am thrilled to be the new 4th grade teacher at our fabulous Ketchikan Charter School! Many of you know me as the former 3rd grade teacher here, and I'm excited to be moving up with this year's group of students. Allow me to tell you a little about myself:
I was raised here in Ketchikan and am a proud graduate of Ketchikan High School. I received my BFA from Stephens College in Columbia, Missouri and I earned my Master's in teaching through the University of Alaska, Southeast. This will be my seventh year teaching at KCS. I love teaching third and I enjoy building relationships with my wonderful students.
Outside of school I enjoy spending time with my husband, Ross, and our dog, Sarkar (students can look forward to lots of dog pictures). My hobbies include hiking, dancing, cooking, and watching baseball - Go Mariners!
Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions about our classroom. I look forward to a wonderful year with this magnificent group of 4th graders!
