    School Picture Day - Friday, Sept. 27th 

    Drop-in Family/Community Photos - Thursday, Sept. 26th, 5pm-6:30pm

    You have the option to order online by going to akcampusphoto.com It's quick and easy! Find your event and place your order. (There are more package options and backgrounds available online.)  For accuracy please place one order per student. 

    Order forms will be sent home with students on Friday, August 13th.  Please include money and send to your child's teacher on or before picture day.

    Early Release

    Each Wednesday, all district schools will be dismissed approximately one hour earlier than usual for staff professional development.

    Point Higgins' dismissal will be 2:15pm every Wednesday.

  • Amazon Smile

    The Point Higgins PTO (Parent-Teacher Organization) has officially set up an Amazon Smile Account! 

    This means that when you shop at smile.amazon.com (or simply click on the Amazon Smile logo above) our PTO will receive 0.5% of the purchase price.  This may not seem like much but it adds up since most of us order from Amazon!

  • After School Art Opportunity

    Click here for more information about "Pumpin Art from the Heart".  After school classes are offered Monday through Friday from Sept. 23-Oct.31 at #5 Creek Street (Above Soho Coho).  The school bus stops at the Museum!

  •  Fundraiser
    It's time to kick off our Boon Supply (formerly Mixed Bags) Fundraiser!
    Packets will be coming home with students on Friday, Sept. 20th Please read the flyer inside your envelope so you can email and text friends the online link! The order forms have a column for tax but DO NOT add tax Shipping and handling is $1.00 per item.
    Start selling this weekend!  We know you'll love these products and especially their quality bags.
    This fundraiser will allow us to have Artist in Resident Brian Elliot (in October), Donuts with your Grownups, Family Movie Nights, Kids Night Out, Kids Day In, Field Day, Field Trips, and more!
    On top of prizes students can earn through Boon Supply, PHE is awarding prizes to the three highest sellers!
    *Top Seller will receive $100.00 Walmart gift card
    *2nd highest seller: $75.00 Walmart gift card
    *3rd highest seller: $50.00 Walmart gift card
    Our Fundraiser closes on October 10th.  Money must be collected and turned into the office no later than October 11.

    Our fabulous Artist in Residence is Brian Elliot!  He has a great project planned for all students preschool through 6th grade.

    Optimism is a character trait example of having a sense of hopefulness and confidence about the future.  It involves a positive mental attitude in which you interpret life events, people, and situations in a promising light.

    Morning Drop off Time
    Early Release 
    We have playground supervision beginning at 8:30am so please do not drop your student off before that. 
    *Reminder - Every Wednesday school is dismissed at 2:15pm!  Please be on time to pick up your child, as staff will be participating in professional development.
    Parents must notify the office before 2:00pm if there are any changes in after school plans.  On early release Wednesdays the cut off is 1:00pm.  When possible, always make plans ahead of time, and send a note to the office with your child. (The end of the day can be hectic.  By following this rule, you will help us ensure all our students are safe.)

    New online Registration
    KGBSD has gone PAPERLESS! Parents and guardians can complete the NEW student required paperwork using the our Online Registration Portal.  In just a few clicks, you can register one or more children.  All school forms including emergency care information, immunization records, media release forms, and more are 100% online for your convenience.
    To register your child for school you'll need a valid email account, your child's birth certificate and immunization record (these can be uploaded or brought to the school). 

    Power School  
    If you need Instructions on setting up your Parent Portal please call the PHE office.  Having a parent account allows you to see your child's assignments, grades, attendance, and lunch balance.  If you set up a parent account last year, you are good to go!
