    A HUGE Thank You to the Point Higgins PTO for pampering staff this week with mini-massages, treats everyday and cucumber water!  It is SO appreciated!  Also, Thank You to all the parents who donned staff with gifts and notes of appreciation.  Point Higgins has the must supportive awesome parents!  
    Support our PTO by purchasing a bag of PHE - PTO Green Bean Coffee!
    Visit the Point Higgins PTO Facebook Page to pre-order and have ready for pick up on the last day of school after the Talent Show.
    Please specify the number of bags, whole bean or ground, light or dark roast.  Bags are $12.00 for a 1-pound bag. 
    Support our PTO and enjoy some good coffee (you'll need it with the kids out of school)!

    New online Registration
    Enrollment is open for grades Preschool (if previously screened and verified), and K-6 for the 2019-20 school year! 
    KGBSD is going PAPERLESS! Parents and guardians can complete the NEW student required paperwork using the our Online Registration Portal.  In just a few clicks, you can register one or more children.  All school forms including emergency care information, immunization records, media release forms, and more are 100% online for your convenience.
    To register your child for school you'll need a valid email account, your child's birth certificate and immunization record (these can be uploaded or brought to the school). 
    To start Kindergarten your child must turn 5 years old on or before September 1st, 2019.
    *If your child currently attends Point Higgins preschool and will be in Kindergarten in the fall you are good to go.  Please let our office know if your child will not be attending Point Higgins in the fall.

    Students in Mrs. Elliot's and Mr. Glover's classes toured the Ketchikan Daily News to learn how newspapers are written and produced.  They finished their field trip with lunch at Subway.

    Mrs. McLaren's and Miss Smith's 5th grade classes met with the U.S. Forest Service to learn about orienteering, native plants, fish in their habitats and predators and prey.  It was a fun afternoon filled with activities!

    Career Week in Mrs. Pendergrass's Class
    Many parents of students in Mrs. Pendergrass's first grade class came to share their careers with students  Thank you, Donald Munhoven, for teaching the students about your job as a lineman!!  (One of the awesome aerial pictures on our website heading was taken from inside the bucket.)

    Mrs. Shlaudeman and Mrs. Pendergrass take their first grade classes on a field trip to the Ketchikan Police Department, Ketchikan Fire Department & Tatsuda Grocery.

    If you need Instructions on setting up your Parent Portal please call the PHE office.  Having a parent account allows you to see your child's assignments, grades, attendance, and lunch balance.  If you set up a parent account last year, you are good to go!
