  • BUILDING SECURITY

    Posted by:
    For the security of our students and staff, all visitors must enter and exit our building at the front office. We ask you also visibly display a visitor sticker for all staff to see.
    We are strictly enforcing this new safety measure and ask for your cooperation. 
    Please do not be offended if you are not following this policy and get stopped by a staff member. We have been trained to stop people on premise not wearing a sticker. This is for ALL student and staff safety.

    Lost & Found is located in the wooden box by the office. Please check regularly for your missing treasures! Periodically, as the bin gets overloaded, we will take items to Goodwill. So please do not delay in checking for missing items.

  • fundraiser Charleston Wrap Fundraiser!

    Starts Sept 14 and goes through to OCtober 5th.

    All orders and money are due to the Houghtaling Office on October 5th

     

    The more items the kiddos sell the more prizes they earn!

    Teachers can earn classroom prizes too!

    The prizes are cummulative, up to a certain point, then kiddos get to choose their big prizes!

     

    Parents can:

    ~Help their kiddos sell to family and friends

    ~Do not go door to door - safety first!

    ~No sales tax on catalog orders!

    ~Register your child and send emails to family out of town to support you! Prize earned after sending 10 emails!

    ~Fill out the zoo animal coupons as your child sells items and turn them into the office for a fun necklace!

    Ketchikan Gateway Borough School District is excited to announce that this year we will be activating texting capabilities through, SchoolMessenger, the same system that sends out the district’s automated phone calls and emails.  This service is not intended to replace our existing means of communication- rather it will enhance them.


    The district will only use the service to provide information that is timely and relevant.


    In order to participate in the new service you must indicate your willingness to receive text messages to your phone. The process is simple and only takes a few seconds to complete.


    Simply text any one of the following words to the number 67587: subscribe, optin, yes

  • Hello Houghtaling Parents!
    Our teachers at Houghtaling strive to give as much instructional time to our students as possible. For this reason, we are asking for your help with keeping classroom interruptions limited. If you need to bring something to school for you child, please leave items at the front office and our staff will see that it gets to your child's classroom.  If you are wanting to visit your child, we ask that you come during their lunch/recess time only. Please sign in at the office and have a visitor sticker visible at all times.
     
    If you need to speak to your child's teacher... no problem! Just call our front office at 225-4128, and we will transfer you over to your child's teacher's voicemail and they will call you back to set up an appointment. You may also email your child's teacher at firstname.lastname@k21schools.org

  • PARKING LOTS ~ Where to Park at Houghtaling

    visitor parking The VISITOR parking is located on the north end of the building. Anytime Parents, Grandparents, Community Members, etc are visiting Houghtaling please park in this parking lot.  The upper STAFF parking is for Staff or Handicap Accessible visitors only. Contact the office if you still have questions.

    The STAFF ONLY and HANDICAP Accessible parking is the upper lot. Please refrain from parking here as we have many staff members and need all these spaces. The Handicap spaces are up close to the building entrace location. Handicap spaces are reserved for those with Handicap accessible eligibility status. Please refrain from parking in these spots even for a few minutes unless you are eligible.
