    If your child is going to be absent from school, for any reason, please call the school office first thing in the morning (907)228-2203. When a student is absent, only the office can change the status to "excused."  Thank you

  • Text Alerts, Announcement, and Reminders

    Ketchikan Gateway Borough School District uses the SchoolMessenger notification system to provide timely communication to parents and staff members on matters such as attendance, lunch balances, transportation, school activities, and emergencies.  This system is designed to send phone calls, emails, and text messages; allowing you to select how you prefer to be contacted. 
    The district will only use the service to provide information that is timely and relevant. 
     
    To participate in the text messaging service, you must indicate your willingness to receive text messages to your phone. The process is simple and only takes a few seconds to complete. 
     
    Simply text any one of the following words to the number 68453: subscribe, option, yes

  • Calling all Fawn Mountain Artists grades PreK-6th! Join 3rd grade in creating a flag for our school. 

    1. You may enter two works of art for judging.

    2. Use pens, crayons, markers, or colored pencils (no computer designs) to create your design on an 8 1/2 x 11 piece of paper.

    3. Please put your first and last name on the back of your art along with your teachers name and grade. 

    Please join 3rd grade in creating a flag for our school!!!

    October 25-29 is Red Ribbon Week at Fawn Mountain Elementary School!  Click on the link for a breakdown of all the events happening the week of October 25-29th.  Parent Newsletter

    Each day is a special drug free message with a dress up theme to go with it!

    Monday, October 25 is I will stay drug free so I can follow my dreams!  ~  Pajamas Day!  Keep in mind the weather outside and the fact all students will go outside for recess. Packing an extra set of clothes is always a safe bet.

    Tuesday, October 26 is I am teaming up against drugs!  ~ Sports Day!  Wear your favorite jersey or your Fawn Mountain swag spirit gear.

    Wednesday, October 27 is I am crazy about being drug free from head to toe!  ~ Mix & Match Day!  Wear your most craziest outfit and mismatched socks.

    Thursday, October 28 is Swap drugs for a healthy habit!  ~ students dress as teachers and teachers dress as students! 

    Friday, October 29 is I am saying BOO to drugs!  ~ Costume/FME Spirit - Dress in your Halloween costume (that
    is appropriate for school - nothing that would scare a
    kindergartner please! And you must wear your facemask
    per our Covid mitigation guidelines) Day!
      Wear your costume at school. ** Please bring costumes to school to change into a later time of the day. It is usually after recess time so they do not get wet or damaged. **

  • Check out this great Halloween Festival happening October 30th at The Plaza! It is aimed at kids 10 and under, but anyone can go and it's 100% free 🙂
