    Preschool Screening

    April 15-17

    2020-21 School Year

    Is your child turning 4 years old on or before September 1st?  

    You can download an application here or stop by the front office. Acceptance is based on space availability and need. 

    Parents who would like their child considered for acceptance must turn in a completed application packet and bring their child to preschool screening on their appointment day.  

    Space is limited. 

    Child Find - Ages 3-21

    Is your child struggling in school?  The KGBSD is conducting a Child Find for children ages 3-21 who may be eligible for special education services.  Please contact your building principal, classroom teacher, or click here for more information.

  • A.L.I.C.E. Training

    Alert, Lockdown, Inform, Counter, Evacuate

    ALICE is a program that has been adopted by the Ketchikan Gateway Borough School District in order to assist in training staff, students, parents, and the community to prepare for a dangerous event at school.  This program replaces the traditional "lockdown" only approach. You can access and view the family training module by signing in with your personal email account.

    January Students of the Month 
    Theme:  Forgiveness
     
    Forgiveness is when you make conscious, intentional decisions to let go of resentment and anger toward someone for an offense - whether or not forgiveness is sought by the offender.  Forgiveness may or may not include pardoning, restoration, or reconciliation.  It extends both to others and to one's self.

    This fun club will be limited to 30 students, grades 2-6.  Participants will meet on Tuesday and Thursdays from 3:30-4:30 though May 7th.  Permission slips will be sent home with students who are interested.

    New online Registration
      
    KGBSD has gone PAPERLESS! Parents and guardians can complete the NEW student required paperwork using the our Online Registration Portal.  In just a few clicks, you can register one or more children.  All school forms including emergency care information, immunization records, media release forms, and more are 100% online for your convenience.
     
    To register your child for school you'll need a valid email account, your child's birth certificate and immunization record (these can be uploaded or brought to the school).

    If your child has a food allergy (especially to peanuts) please be sure your child's teacher as well as the school office is aware.
